Safer Walking and Riding for Murray Rd (SWARM) is a community campaign advocating for safety changes for Murray Rd, Coburg – Preston.
Key SWARM advocacy items for a safer Murray Rd:
🚥 Revert Murray Rd to one through lane in each direction (as it is to the east and west) to calm traffic and allow space for all users. Will enable
- Reinstatement of bike lanes (as there are to the east and west) – protected bike lanes this time
- Wider footpaths
- Reinstatement of pedestrian refuges
- Trees
🚥 Reduce speed limit – all day, from Sydney Rd into the Preston side
🚥 Review crossings and intersections
